WOW….I haven’t posted in forever!!! I have been so so so so so busy!! Planting, painting, painting, painting…..did I say painting??? Things are going really well in the Lori world. I have been pretty busy at work, so it makes my day go by really fast. By the time I get home, I am exhausted!!! Keeping the house together is a big job! Scott does his part, but there are just some things I like my way. Scott has been soooo busy at work, by the time he gets home, he seems exhausted too, but since he’s older than me, I let him slack a little!! I better not let it happen too much, he might take advantage of it ;-) We are planning a camping/floating trip the weekend of the June 26th. I am really excited about it. We usually go with my brother, niece and some of our drunk friends, but this time its Scott’s side only. At first, it was just gonna be Scott and I, and he made a really good point….he said “what if we get into an argument…who would we have to talk to…good point honey, so we decided to invite some friends and family. I like going floating/camping with my brother and friends, but sometimes it gets a little out of hand. I might see if my niece can go….she has a better time with me anyways (probably because I don’t control every move she makes)…
Mine and Scott’s 5 year anniversary is in June…WOW, 5 years….WE made it!! I think we are just getting stronger everyday. We now know which buttons to push and not to push. Hopefully we do something special or exciting..hint hint..Anyways, time to go……is 4:45 that quitting time!!

Our dog “Louie”

What can I say about our dog Louie…Well, he is a Westhigland Terrier and is weighs around 21lbs (which is a little over weight), and he is white. I remember begging my husband for a dog. For Christmas one year, Scott gave me a pretty dog collar, and a card that said “once we move into our own house/apartment (since we were living at my dad’s), I could get a dog. For a second, I thought it was a joke and there was a dog hidden somewhere in the house, but no…..I had to be patient and wait. So, the day came when Scott, Hadley and I went to pick up Louie. We bought him from an Amish family in Jefferson City. I remember when I first saw him…he was soooo cute. I think a little tear came to my eye. He was such a cutie. After we paid the lovely Amish people, we were ready to go home, and see how Louie liked his new home. Well, I will tell you this, he didn’t like the car we drove home in…..not even five minutes into the drive, he crapped all over the backseat of our brand new car…..poor Hadley was in the backseat with him. I felt bad for her….she kept saying “it stinks, it stinks”… husband said to Louie “its ok baby boy, you’re just nervous”….mommy said to husband “pull over and clean that shit up”….it was pretty funny. Well, he got home after a long trip……I think we took him over to my dad’s to play and show him off.
For what’s its worth, Louie is an Ok dog. He is stubborn, and I think he’s deaf or just has selective hearing!!! He can be so sweet at times. When I sit on our couch, watching the tube or what not, he will come lie down behind me, and rest his head on my shoulder…it’s pretty sweet! He loves other dogs, people, squirrels, rabbits and when the wind blows. I would like to get a kitten for him to play with, since I think another puppy would be too much and I don’t think I can go through puppy training again.

my week

What a week!!!! I see a pattern in myself the last month or so. I notice Monday through Wednesday is dreadful going to work… the time Thursday gets here, I am feeling better and waking up on a better note….I think its just my job!!! I think I am getting bored, with it…..don’t get me wrong, it keeps me busy and I am pretty much busy all day long, but its just boring. I should be thankful I have a job, right?? My hubby received a big promotion at his job. I am so proud of him. I knew it was just a matter of time until they saw what he is capable of. He has always excelled at his job….Scott, if you are reading this, I am proud of you and thank you for fighting so hard for yourself and for your family. I love you more and more everyday, and I think I can handle being with you for the rest of our lives together J Anyways, let me wipe that tear away that came…….so Thursday night is a big TV night at the Southwick compound…..its Ugly Betty, American Idol, Smallville and Supernatural, and Hell's Kitchen….thanks goodness for DVR, epecially for American Idol….I watched a 2 hour show last night within 35 minutes…just fast forward through all the bullshit, I just want to hear them sing…btw, I will be adding a new quote for every new entry, enjoy. Well, I guess I should get back to my job…….have to print checks, maybe I should print a couple for myself!!!

quote: When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

I have to say this weekend was just what I needed. I got to relax, spend some time with the husband, and even had a few beers. Saturday was pretty gloomy out, but it was still nice. Scott and I went to Walmart and Lowes to look at the new flowers they had. Walmart had some flowers, but not a lot, just Spring flowers. We also took our time, and looked at all the outdoor d├ęcor and of course we had to look at some manly tools!! After Walmart we went to Lowes…..Have I said lately that I LOVE LOWES…..I could spend hours and hours in there, and a whole lot of money!!! It was nice just the hubby and me browsing and getting some ideas for Summer. So, when we got home we had a lot of measuring to do. Scott is making me some window flower boxes…I am really excited about those….since our house is so white and lacking some color, I thought it would be good to do some window boxes and add some colorful flowers. I haven’t decided which flowers to plant, but I will……the other project I have is adding some flowers around our mailbox. I did this last year, and the flowers had a hard time growing. I think it had to do with the cement around the base of the mailbox and having the flowers too close to the curb, so we are going to move the mailbox and put some new cement around the base. This time I am planting them further out and way bigger than before. Here is a link to what it should look like when I am done

the flowers in this picture are Salvia’s and petunias…..I think both come out to stores around May….
Sunday was relaxing…..Scott worked on his Webpage, which should be up in a couple of weeks, hopefully making us some $$$$$, and I was a couch potatoe…..had to catch up on some shows I recorded….Scott did BBQ, and we ate outside on our wonderful patio and enjoyed was so peaceful…looking out at all the flowers and trees blooming……of course it all came to an end, when we went inside for a minute, and forgot that Louie was outside and left with all the food still on the table……yes, you guessed it…..daddy caught him red handed, with a bratwurst in his mouth..that little *%#@#$... Oh well, it was our fault for leaving it….

our house

I love my house and I think it was a great decision by myself and my husband, but sometimes I start getting impatient about all the things I want to do to our house. I know, I know, it all takes time (says by my dad and husband), but look, I am a woman, and I don’t have patience….i want everything done now. I guess I have just come to the conclusion, everything happens in due time. Anyways, you ask what do I love about my house? I love just having a house. You can paint it, create destruction (me likey), etc. It is hard work, but definalety worth it. I love on the weekends, getting up early, maiking coffee and watching my HGTV shows….it really gives my inspiration. When we lived in the apartment, it really sucked watching those shows, because I couldn’t do any updating, painting etc…now I can do it all. Thank god my husband is around often, because if he wasn’t, I think half of my house would be gone due to my destruction!!! It is nice having a man around…..It seems like whenever I get into a project, and something is too hard, or too complicated, I just yell “honey, can you help” he’s always there…..I knew I married the right one! So…..yes, having a house is a great investment, and fun to work on, but our next house, I would like all updated….it makes it easier!!

Is it Friday yet??

Yea, I know today is Wednesday, at least it’s the middle of the week, but I am sooo looking forward to the weekend. We have had the perfect weather this week. I have taken my dog out for a long walk everyday this week, and he just loves it. As soon as I walk in the door he says “come on mom…..hurry and get changed, eat and do what you gotta do so we can go on my walk” he just loves his walks…..he’s attached to my hip until the walk……I guess I didn’t know how much dogs really like to be walked J
I am excited about Lost being on tonight. It was not on last Wednesday, and my husband and I didn’t know what to do with ourselves. I always wonder what it would be like to crash on an island, and all this weird crap starts happening…..kind of bitter sweet……Well, that’s it for today…..
